Access analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how pages are used. It sets cookies and collects data such as the pages you visit, the referring site and general device information. We use it only in aggregate; we do not try to identify individual readers. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Email subscriptions
If you enter your address in the subscribe box, we store it so we can tell you when a new post goes up on this blog.
- What we store: your email address, which blog you subscribed from, and the date. Nothing else.
- What we use it for: notifying you about new posts on this site. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell, rent or share it.
- Confirmation email: we are not sending one yet. Until the sending setup is in place, the form only tells you on screen that your address was received.
- How to unsubscribe: email contact@tech-athletes.com with the address you used, and we delete the record. Once we start sending emails, every email will also carry an unsubscribe link.
- Where it is stored: Google Cloud Firestore, in a collection that is configured so that it can be written to but not read back from the browser.
Advertising cookies
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Readers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
As of 2026-10-06 this site does not display ads. Before advertising is enabled we will add a Google-certified consent management platform, so that consent for analytics and advertising cookies is requested before those cookies are set.
Until then, the analytics cookies described above are set when you visit. You can prevent them by blocking cookies in your browser or by installing the opt-out add-on linked above.
What we do not do
- We do not sell reader data.
- We do not run user accounts or comment forms on this site, and we collect no names. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.
